Wine of Bordeaux
Le Baron de Malleret Haut Médoc
Impossible to take the road of the castles without skirting this vast property, located at the gates of Bordeaux on the communes of Pian Médoc and Ludon. 290 hectares of woods, garennes and 57 hectares of vines, a castle surrounded by one of the most beautiful arboretum parks of the region designed under the Second Empire, testify to the brilliant destiny of the estate. After three centuries of chaotic history for the vineyard, Malleret found in 1860 its coherence and fullness thanks to the passionate management of CLOSSMANN – important wine merchants, of German origin whose descendants are still watching its destiny today. . Since this founding date, the story ofMalleret is part of the continuity and excellence.Un original soil and unclassifiable. Most of the Malleret vineyard belongs to the Crus Bourgeois family of the Haut-Médoc appellation; its soil, particularly well drained, consists of three parcels of about 20 hectares, planted on different types of geologies. This diversity is one of the wealth of the field, a major asset that is not enough on its own, the choice of men is just as crucial.
