In the Rhone Valley

The vineyards of the Rhône Valley are located on both sides of the Rhône between Vienne, Valence and Avignon. It derives its personality from its Mediterranean climate, marked by the violent mistral wind, but also by the astonishing diversity of soils and grape varieties.

The AOC Côtes du Rhône is the regional appellation that defines in 1937 the wines produced throughout the Rhone Valley. Embellished for many local and municipal AOC distinguishing specific territories or production specifics, it actually combines the red, rosé and dry white (very minor) product of 42 000 hectares of vineyards, spread over 171 towns and 6 departments (Ardèche , Drôme, Gard, Loire, Rhône and Vaucluse).
